Where the 18-34 year olds have roamed in the region

Between the 2000 census and last year’s census, the 18-to-34- year- old population in the St. Louis region grew by 28,365.

Like all shifts and growth spurts, it did not occur equally throughout the city of St. Louis and the surrounding seven counties. East-West Gateway’s December Map of the Month shows the changes in that age cohort in its monthly map. Strong increases in population were seen in the city’s central corridor, from downtown through the Central West End, as well as in the Soulard neighborhood.
